Welcome to 2017!
Happy New Year and welcome to 2017! With the new year having commenced, the team at Energy Skills Queensland have launched themselves into what will be another busy and successful year.
As a recognised industry leader, our mission is to promote the Queensland energy, mining, renewable and telecommunications industries as a career of first choice and to encourage investment in skills and training.
Energy Skills Queensland will host the Industry Leader and Training Group forums, with the first to commence in mid-February. These forums are an invaluable opportunity to discuss relevant topics pertaining to training and education and upcoming industry needs and concerns.
In April, Energy Skills Queensland will launch the workforce skilling component of the Electricity Network Transformation Roadmap, a report produced in consultation with Energy Networks Association and the CSIRO. This event will be an invite only event, with federal and state ministers, as well as key electricity network stakeholders in attendance.
Planning is also underway for Energy Skills Queensland’s two major annual events: Trained to Win in March and the Annual Conference in September. As always, we have organised a number of key industry speakers to discuss digital disruption, emerging technologies and future trends and impacts for the training sector.
The energetic Energy Skills Queensland team will continue their community dedication activities this year with a presence at the CEO Sleepout and Dancing CEO’s. The team will also be represented at business events through the year including a number of International Women’s Day events, energy and training conferences.
This year is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before as Energy Skills Queensland continue to provide a skilled workforce that meets the evolving needs of Queensland’s energy, mining and telecommunication industries.
