Energy Skills Solutions provides advice on skills and training opportunities for career advancement in the Queensland energy industry.
This training and assessment advisory service will benefit new entrants to the industry as well as existing workers seeking to gain or upgrade qualifications.
The energy and telecommunications industries require workers with the skills and experience to competently deliver Queensland's infrastructure development projects.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), also referred to as Skills Assessment, is a simple and cost effective way to gain recognition for work experience and course credit for knowledge and skills. This can include experience and skills attained through previous study, work experience, life experience, volunteer work or leisure pursuits.
RPL offers various benefits such as:
- Potential to reduce time needed to complete studies
- Potential for course credit to recognise experience already achieved without the need to repeat courses
Energy Skills Solutions is a free service and our consultants will provide an RPL pre-assessment to prepare for a full RPL process and identify any gap training needed to gain a qualification.
Energy Skills Solutions consultants provide an evaluation of specific skills, background, and circumstances and provide possible career and training choices.
For skills to be formally recognised, assessors match skills to current industry standards. Our consultants will provide advice on how to best gather evidence of skills and knowledge. They can refer applicants to an education or training organisation for RPL assessment and training.
Depending on the qualification, a subsidy towards the cost of the recognition process may be available.
Individuals eligible for funding may also receive reduced RPL assessment costs when enrolling in a qualification delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Energy Skills Solutions provides new entrants and existing workers with the following services:
- Career advice on employment and workforce development opportunities.
- Skills evaluation to identify and match skills to qualifications.
- Referral advice to RTOs for skills assessment and recognition.
- Gap training advice on services provided by RTOs.
- Advice on regulatory requirements including licensing and permits.
Energy Skills Solutions is a FREE information service provided by Energy Skills Queensland on behalf of Skilling Solutions Queensland and the Queensland Government.
