Energy Skills Queensland's Workforce Planning research is fundamental to the Energy Industry's sustained business success and growth. The key to the effectiveness of Workforce Planning is better decision making in how the workforce is identified, targeted and managed. Ultimately, choices made now will impact on future productivity and financial performance. 

Strategic Workforce Planning for the Energy Industry of Queensland is conducted by Energy Skills Queensland to identify:

• Priority demand for skills
• Shortfalls in the current and future supply of skilled labour
• Change drivers in the demand and supply of skills – industry hot spots and opportunities
• Future skills supply markets and workforce development strategies to improve the attraction and retention of: young and high potentials (schools, school leavers, graduates); apprentices/trainees; newly qualified and practising entrants; experienced and mature age workforce (existing and potential); minority and disadvantaged groups in the labour market; and overseas migrants.
